Every year, when Spring rolls around, I find myself wanting to update my living room with the latest colours, textures, and accessories. And this year is no exception – I’ve been well and truly drawn towards all the gorgeous grey and white bits and pieces I’ve found when shopping online recently.
For today’s post, I thought I’d share a little bit of living room inspiration featuring the two, and talk you through how I’d update my living room to incorporate them. I hope you’re sitting comfortably, as I feel this may end up being a long one. So, without further ado, let’s jump right in. Enjoy!

First up, I’ve picked out this gorgeous ash grey 3 seater sofa from DFS. I absolutely love the colour of it and think it would look fab surrounded by nice white furniture. At just £579, this particular sofa isn’t going to break the bank, which is good for us as we recently moved house and could probably do with buying two, since we have a fairly spacious living room. And from the reviews I’ve read online, people who have recently purchased the sofa say it’s super comfy and adds style and panache to their living rooms. It’s clearly a winning piece!

White Radiator
As I mentioned before, we’ve recently moved house, and one of the things I’d really like to replace in the living room is the radiator, as the one that’s in there now is looking a little worse for wear. I’ve been shopping around for one for a while now, and have finally decided I’d like a nice white column radiator like the one above from Trade Radiators. Trade Radiators is one of the leading suppliers of radiators here in the UK, supplying a wide range of convector, designer and column radiators at trade prices, so I know I’d be getting a good deal buying through them.

One thing I’d really love to have in my new living room is this white gloss coffee table with chrome legs from Furniture123. I think it looks super stylish, and I could jazz it up a bit by adding a grey runner and sitting a vase of flowers on top. It has a handy storage drawer on the side as well, which would be perfect for hiding away all our clutter. And it would be so nice to actually have somewhere to put my cup of tea when we’re sat watching Netflix in the evenings. At the moment I just pop it on the floor and it’s insane how many times Oscar knocks it over when he’s sat playing on the floor!

One thing my living room is missing at the moment is a mirror. Yet I think having one would come in handy for when my daughter, Stacey is getting ready to go to college in a morning. I’ve seen absolutely loads of gorgeous mirrors on the high street, so it was really difficult to choose just one. But I eventually settled on this gorgeous platinum silver overmantle one from William Wood Mirrors that I think would compliment the rest of the room beautifully. It’s only £140 as well, which I think is a bargain as the detailing on it is so intricate. I’d be interested to hear what you guys think of it.

White LIATHORP Storage Combination
I’ve mentioned here on my blog before that I hate clutter, but we always seem to end up with loads of it at our house. So I’d really like to pick up one of these gorgeous LIATHORP storage combinations from IKEA to have in my living room. The delicate shape and details remind of country living, but it also has a modern twist. I have lots of lovely little trinkets that I think would look fab behind the glass doors, and I could hide my mail and other bits and bobs that I don’t want on display behind the doors. Isn’t it just beautiful!?

There’s nothing I love more than hanging prints on the wall, and I love to have a sort of gallery wall like the one pictured above. I usually buy my prints from a company called ‘Desenio’, who have a wide range of different styles to suit everyone. At the moment I’m lusting after this print of a Mark Twain quote that says ‘Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never forget anything that makes you smile’. I can most definitely imagine having it hung somewhere in my living room. It’s just stunning.

Kylie Minogue Iliana Curtains in ‘Oyster’
And last, but certainly not least, I’d love to treat myself to some nice new curtains for my living room window. And these Kylie Minogue Iliana Curtains in the shade ‘Oyster’ are right up my street. They’re made from a soft, sumptuous velvet, and I love that they have ring tops, as it will make them easier to hang. I think I’d buy some tie-backs so I could give my window that ‘draped’ look, rather than having them hanging straight. And I think they’d exude just the right amount of glamour and style to be the perfect finishing touch to my lovely new living space.
And there you have it – my grey and white living room inspiration. I think this colour combo is probably one of my favourites from all the years I’ve been decorating. It’s very ‘me’ and would brighten up my living room no end. I want to go shopping now and buy everything!

Every year since the year 2000, the
I personally think the colour combination is just gorgeous, and they remind me of the beautiful, pinky blue sunsets we so often see when we’re on holiday. There really is something soothing about it, and I totally get where Leatrice Eiseman was coming from when she decided to opt for two colours of the year this year.
