Over the years I’ve tried lots of different electric face brushes. And although I found most of them to be really effective, I always stopped using them after a while due to the replacement brush heads being mega expensive. So when I was offered the chance to try out the Foreo LUNA Mini 2 – a unique silicone cleansing brush that doesn’t need replacement brush heads – I just knew I had to say yes! After all, it was bound to save me a lot of my hard earned cash in the long run.
I’ve been using this device for a good couple of months now. And today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on it with you guys. I hope you will find it useful, especially if you’re on the lookout for a new cleansing device to use as part of your skincare routine.
ABOUT THE FOREO LUNA MINI 2 ELECTRIC FACE BRUSH
The Foreo LUNA Mini 2 comes in five eye-catching colours, and the one I have is in Pearl Pink. The device comes in fuss-free packaging, and includes one silicone cleansing brush, a user manual and a USB cable for charging it up.
I wanted to try mine out as soon as it arrived, so I plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised to find that it took just under an hour to charge fully. And what’s more, Foreo say that one full charge should last for up to 5 months of use! This will depend on how often you use the device though. I currently use mine twice a week, and I haven’t had to recharge it yet. This is fantastic as similar brushes I’ve tried in the past have needed charging at least once a week.
While charging, the indicator (the clear strip at the bottom) will flash repeatedly. When the battery is full, the indicator will emit a steady glow. And when the battery is low, the indicator will start to flash to let you know it needs recharging.

I have to say that I really love the design of the Foreo LUNA Mini 2. It fits nicely into the palm of my hand, which makes using it so easy compared to similar devices! It features 3 ‘zones’, each with different type of bristle. And the idea is that you can use the part that feels best on your skin. You can also choose from 8 different intensities of pulsation, which I haven’t come across on any similar products before.
As I mentioned earlier, I use the Foreo LUNA Mini 2 twice a week as part of my regular skincare routine. Although I sometimes squeeze in an extra use if I’m going out somewhere special. It’s recommended that you use the device twice a day for best results, and I definitely think it’s gentle enough to be able to do this. I’m just so used to using a cleansing brush twice a week rather than daily that I can’t break the habit!
HOW I — — USE THE FOREO LUNA MINI 2 ELECTRIC FACE BRUSH
- First of all I dampen my face with warm water and apply my cleanser. I generally choose a foaming one, but regular cleansers will work just fine as well. I then wet the device, turn it on and adjust the intensity of the pulsations if need be.
- Next, I gently glide the brush in circular motions over my face for 1 minute. The device vibrates at 15 second intervals, so I usually start on one side of my face, and then move it across to the opposite side when I feel it buzz. I then move on to my T-Zone, and finish with my chin. After one minute the pulsations will pause 3 times in succession to signify the end of the cleansing routine.
- And finally I rinse my face, pat it dry with a towel and then apply the rest of my skincare products as usual.
I would also recommend turning the pulsations down to the lowest setting when you’re gliding the brush around the under-eye area, as it’s obviously really delicate and requires extra care and attention.
WHAT I THOUGHT OF THE FOREO LUNA MINI 2 ELECTRIC FACE BRUSH
Overall I’m really impressed with the Foreo Luna Mini 2. It’s by far the most gentle electric cleansing brush I’ve ever used, yet it’s probably been the most effective! I mentioned back in February that I was struggling to get Oscar to go to sleep at night, and my skin really suffered while that was happening.
I was seriously spotty and my skin was so, so dull. I just hated looking at myself in the mirror. And even when things started to go back to normal, nothing seemed to be helping my skin return to its healthy looking self. Until I started using this little device that was!
The first time I used this I noticed my skin felt softer and smoother than it had done in a long while. And after a couple of weeks worth of use my skin started looking a lot brighter and more like its old self. The spots have pretty much gone too. I have a couple of little blemishes now, but I’m confident they’ll clear up soon if I keep using this device.
The other thing I noticed about the Foreo LUNA Mini 2 is that it didn’t cause my skin to ‘purge’ when I first started using it. I know I already had spots, but I expected them to get a hell of a lot worse before they got better. And they didn’t. I genuinely think this is because of how gentle the device is due to being made of silicone. It doesn’t feel harsh on the skin at all and I think that’s amazing. I can’t sing its praises highly enough!
The unique silicone design also makes it super easy to clean the device! I just run it under warm water once I’ve finished using it until the water runs clear. I then dry it off and leave it next to the sink for a couple of hours to ensure there’s no water left inside, before putting it back in the box until I want to use it next.
The Foreo LUNA Mini 2 is priced at £99.00, which sounds quite pricey, but I think offers great value for money when you consider that it doesn’t require replacement brush heads or require charging week in, week out. It also comes with a 2-year limited warranty and a 10-year quality guarantee.
And if you were wanting to pick one of these up then I highly recommend heading over to Feel Unique this weekend, as if you spend £100 or more then you will also be sent an amazing beauty gift filled with over £100 worth of treats for your skin, hair and body from some truly fabulous brands! But hurry, as there are only a limited number of these treats available. Eek!

I would consider using this. I’m client facing all day and look after my skin but the products do take it out if used for too long. This looked a good alternative so thanks! Not sure I would pay £99 for it but I suppose the whole Palmer family would end up using it. Thanks. Good write up too
This looks really good – I like how it didn’t cause you to break out when you started using it as that would be my worry x
It really is great. It’s the only face brush I’ve ever used that didn’t cause me to break out!x

I’ve never used a face brush before, i’ve seen them before but never really bothered with getting one x
Interesting item to add in your beauty routine. I guess this is worth to invest to. Knowing that one full charge should last for up to 5 months of use is just amazing.

I confess I don’t even have a skin care routine. Flannel and warm water, and that’s it, and as I’m not getting any younger I need to up things a bit. Was very interested to read about this product – it sounds great, but a bit out of my budget.

My mum only ever uses a flannel and warm water and she has lovely skin. She’s never really bothered wearing much makeup though. Just a touch of eyeshadow and lippy 🙂

Thank you for an informative review, but it is not something that I would use if i am being honest.
I think i would rahter use that money for something else 🙂
I’d love to try one of these if I can get over the fact that it looks like a sex toy! I have a clarisonic aria which is also quite good but I like the fact that you don’t have to fork out for replacement brushes with this one.

I’ve not seen these face brushes before, it’s good that you didn’t purge before getting better skin.
What a quirky little gadget – a great addition to an existing routine.
I haven’t used a face brush before, but I am liking the sound of this one. I will have to give it a go!

Hi, did you purchase this Foreo through Feel Unique? Is that a certified Foreo seller?
Thanks!
Hi Em, I actually got the FOREO to review, but I believe Feel Unique are certified sellers 🙂
Oh my gosh! I would love to try this. I wonder where I can get it in the Philippines? I like things like these because they can relax the facial muscles. 🙂
