We’ve all done it. We’ve all forgotten a birthday and had to slap something together a day or two before! It’s simply human nature. No matter how much you care about someone, their birthday will slip your mind at one point or another.
But it’s OK, because you’ve remembered with just enough time left to put a good gift together. And yes, even though you’re doing it last minute, you can find something that will impress the recipient and make them feel as cared about as they really are.
Here’s a quick list of the kind of gifts to look into buying right now.

FANCY CHOCOLATES (OR BISCUITS)
Everyone loves getting some nice chocolate for their birthday! Make sure you take a look through the selection boxes and see what you’re getting, as you don’t want to accidentally serve some hazelnut chocs to someone with a nut allergy! But otherwise, you’ll be good to go.
And if they don’t really like chocolate, it’s OK! You’ve got tins of fancy biscuits available to you instead.
Chocolate chip cookies, shortbread made with caramel or demerara sugar, viennese fingers that have been coated with chocolate or cinnamon. Fancy biscuits are often nicer than the quality box of chocolates you would have bought instead!
LUXURIOUS AFTERSHAVE OR PERFUME
They’re old favourites for a reason! So when you’ve got a loved one’s birthday coming up tomorrow and you’ve got nothing for them as yet, look into shopping the perfume aisle ASAP.
Whilst you’re shopping, think about the kind of scent the person already wears. Or if they don’t, what scents you would match to their personality.
That’s why you need to be able to get up close and personal with the luxurious smell of Afnan Supremacy Collector’s Edition – so you can tell for sure whether or not it’ll suit the recipient!
SOMETHING COSY TO WEAR
When it’s cosy, it’s appreciated! So when you’re out of ideas and there’s less than 48 hours to go before your best friend’s or sister’s birthday, look into grabbing something nice and cosy for them to slip on.
If you know their shoe size, go for a good pair of slippers here. Something nice and fluffy – and be sure to test them out before you buy – will work wonders as a gift.
If you don’t know their shoe size, that’s fine. You can simply buy them something cosy to wrap up in instead. Something like a new dressing gown or bath robe, if you know they like to lounge. Or a nice new soft woolen jumper, especially if it’s getting cold out.
When it’s nearly their birthday and you’ve just remembered you need to get them something, the gifts above will work every single time. They’re personal enough to feel like some thought went into them, and they’re more than nice enough to qualify as a good birthday gift. Now, make sure you’ve noted the date so you don’t remember at the last minute next year!
So, which of these last-minute gifts are you rushing out to grab?
