A couple of months ago Topshop Beauty celebrated their 5th Birthday, can you believe it?! I remember heading into town a few days after the release to see what they had to offer, and being disappointed that my local store only had a few nail polishes in stock!
Since that day I’ve picked up the odd few bits and bobs from Topshop Beauty, but despite the super pretty packaging and affordable price point, I always seem to forget that they have makeup and nail polish to offer, and usually walk straight past to Boots or Superdrug.
When I heard that they were marking their 5th anniversary by releasing a selection of their best selling products with a limited edition rose gold packaging though, I just knew I had to pick up one of each to try out. And today, I’m sharing my thoughts on each of them with you guys at home.
Topshop Beauty Glow Pot in Polished – £9.00
First up is a product of Topshop Beauty’s that I’d never tried before – their highlighter or ‘glow pot’ in the shade ‘Polished’. Now, I usually go for highlighting products with very little shimmer to them, which is why this particular little pot has never really appealed to me. But after using regularly over the past few weeks I’ve actually come to love it! It gives a nice, quite subtle sheen to the skin that can be built up if required. It’s easy to use and a little of the product really does go a long way. I was sure I wouldn’t rate this product at all, but I really do. I even think I’d consider a repurchase in the future. And that’s got to say a lot hasn’t it?!
Topshop Beauty Cream Blush in Head Over Heels – £7.00
I have to admit that I’ve stayed away from the cream blush in the past as I most definitely prefer powder products. Over the years I’ve gotten more confident at using cream blushers and highlighters, but I still think they are easier to mess up than powders. However, this particular blush has a beautiful cream to powder formulation that makes application a dream! I just swirl a little product onto my finger, dab it onto my cheek bones and then blend out with a stippling brush. It takes 2 minutes max. and gives a beautiful, natural glow to the cheeks, despite looking super bright and scary in the pan! I can definitely see myself repurchasing this in the future as I’ve used it almost every day for the last month or so.
Topshop Beauty Magic Liner in Engraved – £6.50
The product I most definitely use the least (and haven’t photographed myself wearing) is the magic liner. It’s basically a black liquid liner, which looks lovely on when I manage to get it right. Unfortunately, my hands aren’t very steady at the moment due to my scoliosis pain flaring up, so I couldn’t show you. You’ll just have to trust me on this one!! The magic liner comes in a felt-tip-pen-like package, and the nib is quite a bit thinner than I’m used to with these sort of products, which makes application so much easier and more precise than usual. And in my opinion, the shade is a real ‘true black’ which I really like. I can’t wait to play around with this product more once my shakiness has disappeared!
Topshop Beauty Lips in Innocent – £8.00
I absolutely love Topshop Beauty lipsticks! They’re lovely and creamy and last almost all day without the need to reapply. I’d never tried the shade ‘Innocent’ before, so I thought I’d give it a try this time round, and I really like it. It’s quite different to a lot of the other pink shades of lipstick that I have in my collection – it’s much more vibrant and seems to scream “Hey, look at me!” … I really like it. If you like your lipsticks to be super pigmented then I would most definitely recommend checking out the range at Topshop as they never disappoint in that area.
Topshop Beauty Nails in Parma Violet – £6.00
And last but finally not least I picked up a nail polish in the shade ‘Parma Violet’. I’m a big fan of Topshop’s nail colours, but this is one I’d never tried before. Just like the others I’ve used in the past I found it to apply really nicely, with just a couple of coats needed to achieve full opacity. This shade is perfect for the spring and summer months, and I found that my nails remained chip-free for almost a week after painting them. I love it!
Overall I’m really impressed with the range of makeup and nail products available at Topshop. Everything is under a tenner, and I always find that they are bang on trend with the shade ranges available for each product. And since you can find a Topshop store on most high streets the range is accessible to pretty much everyone which is brilliant. I honestly can’t think of anything remotely negative about the brand … well done Topshop Beauty on being so fantastic.
Have you ever shopped the beauty range at Topshop before?
I’d love to hear any recommendations you may have!
