With February already a good few days behind us, I thought it was time to share a list of all the makeup, skincare, fragrance and reading favourites I’d found myself enjoying throughout the month with you guys. I hope you enjoy it.
Makeup Favourites:
Barbara Daly for Tesco Oil-Free Foundation in Ivory – around £8.00
I’ve been using the Barbara Daly for Tesco Oil-Free Foundation on and off for almost 10 years now! It’s most definitely my all time favourite foundation, and the only reason I don’t use it all the time is because I find my local Tesco won’t have it in stock for ages, and then I have to stock up on them when they are.
The formula of this particular foundation is light and silky, and it provides a medium coverage so I tend to use it more during the spring and summer months. The foundation comes in a bottle with a screw cap with a small spatula attached to it, which I think makes placing the product exactly where I need to so much quicker and easier and it dries to a satin finish. I find that this foundation is fantastic at hiding any skin problems that I have and it lasts all day as well. I love it!

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder – £12.99
Another recent rediscovery for me has been Soap & Glory’s ‘One Heck of a Blot’, which is an amazing translucent mattifying powder. I love this because just using the tiniest bit takes away any annoying shine. I usually use this on my t-zone and under my eyes, where I tend to get the most oily, and I’ll do a couple of touch-ups with it throughout the day as well.
Once applied, you can’t tell that you’re wearing any powder, and I’ve never noticed any creasing when I’ve dabbed any of this under my eyes either, which is great. I use this almost every single day and I can’t imagine life without it anymore. It’s so quick and easy to use, and I just throw it in my bag and use the sponge applicator that comes with it when I’m out and about. It’s a true wonder product!

Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla – £34.00 when bought as part of a set
Last month I found myself reaching for my Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla a lot. I love the subtle glow that this product creates and it is by far the best highlighter I’ve ever tried.
I use it in the majority of my eye looks, occasionally on my cheeks, down my nose, and more recently I’ve been using it to accentuate my cupids bow. I love that it can be used in loads of different ways, and my only gripe is that it can be really tricky to get your hands on it here in the UK! At the moment I can only find them in sets at Feel Unique.
L’Oreal L’extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Nude Ballet – £8.99
Although I’ve never really been a big fan of L’Oreal, I’ve been loving their L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in the shade Nude Ballet this last few weeks! You apply this as you would do a gloss, and it dries to a gorgeous, lipsticky finish that lasts for hours. I love everything about this product from the packaging and the formulation to the amazing shine and pigmentation. I can’t actually think of anything I dislike about it!
For me, this is the perfect ‘your lips but better’ shade, and it’s something I’ve been wearing on a daily basis. I’m hoping to get my hands on a couple of their other shades soon. I looked at Molto Mauve and Rose Symphony a few weeks ago and both look just as lovely as Nude Ballet. I still can’t believe I’d never tried any liquid lipsticks before!!
Skincare Favourites:
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm – £36.00
Ah, what can I say about the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift & Sculp Moringa Cleansing Balm? Well, I can’t think of a more appropriate thing than ‘a-mazing‘ to describe this little beauty! I’d been wanting to try this out for ages, but have to admit that the hefty price tag put me off. Then at Christmas my mum and dad kindly bought me a Emma Hardie gift set that included this cute, miniature version of it. How fabulous are they?!
Of all the cleansing balms I’ve ever tried, I have to say that this is the best. It has a buttery texture, a nice subtle scent, and my skin seems to glow after I’ve used it. No wonder it’s such a sought after product! I will definitely be parting with my hard earned cash for a full sized version of this once I’ve run out.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask – £22.00
Last month, the Body Shop had a special offer on where you could get yourself a lovely £25 off if you spent £50 of more. Since I was getting a little low on my stash of shower gels, I decided to make use of such a great offer, and one of the products I picked up was their new Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask.
My skin absolutely loves this mask and I use it every single night. Basically, you take a little product out of the tub to massage into your skin, and while you’re doing that, the white gel ‘bounces’ back into shape, leaving the pot looking like new. And this is what it’s supposed to do to your skin too! I wouldn’t say that mine seems any more bouncy than usual, but it most definitely looks a lot brighter than it did before.
Other Favourites:
The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Mini Eau De Toilette – £5.00
I picked up the Body Shops Indian Night Jasmine on a whim last month, and it’s been my go-to scent ever since! It has a gorgeous oriental smell and I absolutely love it. I’m usually quite fussy with perfumes, and thought I might not use it very much, so I’m glad to report that I do.
This is actually the very first Body Shop fragrance I’ve ever picked up so if you have any recommendations for others you think I should try please let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!
The Glam Guide by Fleur DeForce – £14.99 £7.49
And last but certainly not least I have been reading (and thoroughly enjoying) beauty vlogger Fleur DeForce’s very first book : The Glam Guide. If you’re a fan of Fleur then I’m sure you’ll already be aware of all there is to know about this book, but if not, I’ll give you a little idea of what you can expect from it.
The Glam Guide is a lovely coffee table book that is packed full of useful beauty information, tips and tricks. It’s broken down into several sections, and within each section you can find different topics. It’s all really well laid out and easy to read (which is essential for busy mums like myself) and I’m really enjoying reading it. I found myself nodding along to the first few sections, but I’ve also picked up a few new tricks to try! I would say I’m about three quarters of the way through it now and would recommend it to anyone who’s into fashion and beauty. Well done Fleur!
And what products would you recommend I try out throughout March?
