Picture the scene: They’ve worked hard to finish their degree (and probably partied even harder), and now they’ve passed with flying colours and it’s time to celebrate! The cap and gown have been ordered, and the big day is almost upon them. But then you realise – you still haven’t found the perfect present for the lucky lady whose graduation it is. Eek!
Don’t worry, though. There’s still plenty of time. And I’m here to help you today by sharing my top ten graduation gift ideas for her. I hope you enjoy having a read of it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. So, shall we get started?
Adexe Watch – £129.00
I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I have a graduation gift to buy, my first port of call is always the jewellers so I can see what watches they currently have to offer. And this year I’m loving all the gorgeous watches from Adexe! If you haven’t come across them before, they make absolutely stunning unisex timepieces that are not only stylish and modern but are super high quality too.
I recently picked up this beautiful ‘THEY Grande Dark Chocolate’ watch with a black face, and I get so many compliments on it whenever I wear it. It has a classic multi-function dial, has a hand-polished all stainless steel case, curved hardened crystal glass front, and even comes with an extra watch strap! It’s just beautiful and would make an absolutely gorgeous keepsake for both female and male graduates alike to remember just how successful they are every time they glance at the time. What could be nicer?
And if the more masculine feel of watch isn’t really her thing, how about going for something more delicate in a stunning rose gold instead?
Afternoon Tea – prices vary
If the graduate likes eating out, then why not treat her to a special afternoon tea? So many places have both traditional afternoon teas and trendier Prosecco afternoon teas on their menu now. And nowadays many places cater for vegans and have gluten-free choices available as well. There really is something for everyone!
If you’re in the Nottinghamshire area then I highly recommend trying out The Pudding Pantry, a lovely little dessert cafe that served the most delicious afternoon tea I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. You can also take afternoon tea at places like the wonderful Chatsworth House, or on board a cruiser on the River Thames. As well as being delicious, it’s a great way to spend some quality time with your loved one once they’ve graduated.
Personalised Graduation Mug – £15.00
My niece is graduating from Huddersfield University this year, and the gift I’ve been looking at buying for her is this gorgeous mug from Not On The High Street. On the front of the mug, there’s a sweet little picture of a young lady wearing her graduation gown, and it can be personalised with the word congratulations and the lucky recipient’s name. Then the back of the mug can be personalised further with the name of the university she attended, along with the date of her graduation.
You guys know how much I love giving and receiving mugs as presents. (I think I’ve featured one in pretty much every gift guide I’ve ever written. LOL). And I think this one would go down a storm as it makes a lovely keepsake gift to remember a very special day. Just look at how cute it is!
If the graduate you’re buying for this year is one of those people who loves Prosecco and choccies, then why not let them know how amazing they are by gifting them this spectacular hamper from Thorntons? The hamper contains a bottle of magnificent Italian Prosecco and a selection of heavenly Thorntons chocolates presented in a super cute wicker basket. Yum!
The chocolate selection includes a box of continental chocolates, a box of pudding collection chocolates, a bag of Viennese chocolates, a bag of chocolate puddings, a bag of strawberry dreams (my faves), and a bag of vanilla truffles. Treating someone special to this amazing hamper means they have a gift that will last, and even after the last dreamy chocolate has been enjoyed, the wicker basket can be used again and again. Does anyone else suddenly feel hungry?!
If you’re after a special piece of jewellery for your graduate to receive on their graduation day, then how about treating them to this gorgeous personalised initial pastille necklace from Merci Maman? It features their iconic pastille charm in various sizes along the chain, and sits at a shorter length than most others, making it perfect for layering.
The necklace is available in sterling silver and 18K gold plating, and can be engraved with up to 7 initials on the pastille discs. It would make an absolutely gorgeous gift to commemorate their very special day. What do you guys think of it?
Personalised Graduation Photo Frame – £14.99
Graduations are the sorts of events where people tend to take a lot of photographs. So why not treat the lucky graduate to a photo frame to display her favourite snap from the day? I love this gorgeous glass mirrored frame from Prezzybox, with the word ‘Gratuation’ printed at the top in a funky font, and plenty of room at the bottom to personalise it with a message of your choice.
The frame holds a 5 x 7-inch photograph and is the perfect way for her to treasure the memory of her graduation day forever. I think it’s safe to say it will be sure to put a great big smile on her face when she sees it. I know it made me smile when I came across it!
Designer Handbag – prices vary
For an extra special graduation gift this year, how about treating your loved one to a designer handbag? It’s unlikely she’s going to be able to treat herself to one for a while thanks to the student loan, but I can guarantee she’d be over the moon with it. I know if I was graduating and someone gifted me a designer handbag I would be thrilled!
There are so many lovely bags available to buy at the moment, but my absolute favourite is the one pictured above – the Jimmy Choo Lockett Petite Bag. I love it in the classic black colour, with either the gold or chrome chain strap. The Lockett Petite is a sexy and feminine shoulder flap bag and is perfect to use both in the daytime and at night. I highly recommend giving a gift like this if you’re looking to spend that little bit more.
A Bottle of Their Favourite Fragrance – prices vary
Another present that’s sure to go down well is a bottle of their favourite perfume or cologne. Especially if that perfume or cologne is a bit on the pricey side, as it means they won’t have to replace their current bottle when it runs out! Don’t worry if you don’t know what their favourite scent is, though. You could always choose one of the lovely fragrances from Jo Malone. I’ve never met a lady who doesn’t like at least one of Jo’s scents!
From the fairly subtle Peony & Blush Suede to the more intense Dark Amber & Ginger Lily (my personal favourite), there’s a Jo Malone scent for everyone. And sometimes it’s possible to get the bottle engraved with a special message as well. It’s always worth asking in store. You won’t regret it.
Apple MacBook Air – £749.00
If a new laptop is what your little superstar is after, then how about treating her to an Apple MacBook Air? They’re the top choice for many youngsters these days as they’re sleek and stylish, compact enough to carry around in a handbag, and the battery life on them is far superior to most other brands.
The Apple MacBook Air is also super easy to setup and use and it has some fantastic apps available that can’t be downloaded and used on other laptops. It’s sure to offer great value for money and makes one truly awesome gift. I’d really love one myself!
Driving Lessons – prices vary
If you know the recipient of your gift is wanting to take driving lessons (and has a provisional license), then why not treat them to a block booking of lessons as a graduation gift? Imagine how happy she’ll be when she’s passed and has the freedom to take herself wherever she wants to go. It’s amazing!
You could also pay for some lessons with her current instructor if she’s already taking them. I’m sure she’d be super grateful for any help with the cost, as learning to drive really isn’t cheap these days. I think most places charge at least £25 per hour now. Although it does vary greatly from one place to another. Either way, it’s a gift that will drive her crazy with thanks!
And there you have it, my top ten graduation gift ideas for her. I hope you found it helpful, and that you found a gift to suit your taste and budget. Be sure to let me know what the recipient thought of the gift(s) if you decided to buy anything. I’m sure she’d be over the moon with any of them.
