My Top Picks From Boux Avenue

Today has most definitely been one of ‘those days’. I was supposed to be going along to the official opening of the brand new Boux Avenue lingerie store in Nottingham. But, due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up having to miss it. I can’t even begin to tell you guys how disappointed I was.

Anyway, I was browsing their website earlier tonight and found myself adding absolutely loads of amazing bits to my basket. And it got me thinking about how it would be a good time to write up a little post here on my blog sharing my top picks with you all. So, in true With love from Lou fashion, here it is. I hope you enjoy having a read.

Georgina Satin Plunge Bra and Knickers

When shopping for new underwear, I’m the sort of girl who likes to go for bras and knickers that match, rather than ones that don’t. And one of the matching sets I have my eye on is this ‘Georgina’ one in oyster and black. Isn’t it lovely? Boux Avenue love adding lots of different textures to their underwear, and I think this really shows in this particular set.

The sophisticated plunge bra has satin covered straps with a delicate ribbon at the bottom of each of them, satin panelled cups, and a beautiful lace trim. And the matching briefs have a satin panelled front, a sheer mesh back, lace trim and a delicate ribbon bow at the front. Both items look super comfortable and really flattering. I just love them, and they would make a welcome addition to my undie drawer!

Tamara Lace Balconette Bra and Lace Shorts

Another matching set I really love is the ‘Tamara’ one in black and dark red. I think it looks super glamorous and would be perfect for the upcoming festive season. The Tamara set has a real luxurious feel to it, and I love how much detail Boux Avenue have added to it.

The beautiful balconette bra has a black eyelash overlay, mesh-covered straps and a cute black ribbon bow in the centre. And the matching shorts have the same black eyelash overlay, a mesh back and a cute black ribbon bow in the centre. They’re both quite different from anything else I have in my collection, and I could definitely see myself wearing them. They’re fab!

Sequin Robin Pyjama Set

If there’s one thing I buy a lot of from Boux Avenue, it’s pyjama sets. They always have fab designs to choose from, and I’m totally in love with this new short pair I found online with a cute sequinned robin on the front. They’re ridiculously cute!

The pyjamas have a t-shirt style top in a gorgeous oatmeal colour. And I love that it has a very faint speckled detail to it as if the robin has just hatched out of an egg. The robin has sequins on its breast, wing, and tail, and is surrounded by snowflakes. The matching shorts have a gorgeous fairisle print and an elasticated waist which ties up. I think they would make the perfect Christmas present for a fun-loving sister, mum or girlfriend. I love them!

Merry Catmas Pyjamas

Another pair of short pyjamas I really love this season are these red and white ‘Merry Catmas’ ones. Aren’t they the cutest? They have a white vest top with a picture of a kitten on wearing a sequinned scarf and antlers, and the words ‘Merry Catmas’ underneath. Adorable!

The shorts are in keeping with the festive feel, and come in a red and white stripe with an elasticated waist and tie fastening. I think my daughter Stacey would love these, and I’m planning on picking up a pair for her Christmas Eve Box this year. I think I’ll need to be quick, though, as I think they’re so purrrfect they’ll sell out fast!

Giraffe Print Pyjamas

Now, I should mention that I already have lots of pairs of Boux Avenue pyjamas in my wardrobe. And this next pair is very similar to some I already have. They’re probably my most worn ones though, so I know if I picked these up I’d be sure to get a lot of wear out of them. And they’re the ‘Head In The Clouds’ long giraffe print ones. Aren’t they cute?!

The set comes with a white t-shirt with a picture of a giraffe on and the words ‘head in the clouds’ above it. And the bottoms are long with an all-over giraffe print on. They also have an elasticated waist with a pink tie. The ones I currently have are black and rose gold, so I think these are different enough to justify treating myself to them. What do you guys think? They’re a must-have in my opinion!

Giraffe Print Robe

In case it wasn’t obvious already, I’m a little obsessed with giraffe print at the moment. So the next item I’ve picked out features more of the same. But this time, it comes in the form of a beautiful bathrobe. Eek!

The robe features a fun and playful giraffe design and is made from a velvety soft fabric to ensure you stay toasty and warm as the colder nights draw in. I love that it has a huge cosy hood with novelty giraffe ears on, and the pockets on each side would be sure to come in handy. I think the robe would go perfectly with the pyjamas I mentioned above. And I can see it being a really popular choice for a loved one’s Christmas gift this year. I mean, who wouldn’t want a bathrobe like this? It’s amazing!

Sacramento Swimsuit

I’m in desperate need of a new swimsuit right now, and this gorgeous aqua-coloured one with a floral print top is right up my street! The suit has a plunging neckline, halterneck ties and a super flattering fit. I’d be sure to blend into tropical surroundings wearing this!

I’m absolutely digging the colour of this particular swimsuit. The only thing I’d be concerned about is whether or not it would hold me in, as I have fairly large boobs. I think I’d definitely need to wear a beach cover-up over the top of it when walking around. Which brings me nicely to the final item on my list …

Wrap Front Cover Up

And the final item I’ve picked out is this stylish beach cover-up in a stunning coral colour. The cover-up is made from sheer chiffon, has a tie front and a drawstring waist. I think it would go nicely with the swimsuit I mentioned above and would give me the confidence to walk around in my swimwear.

I love that the cover-up is quite loose fitting, and the wrap style would be sure to suit me much better than the open front ones would. I think it would be perfect for my next holiday. It’s such a shame I’ve got to wait for 2019 for it to happen. Oh, well!
