Perfect Additions To Any Home!

There are plenty of things that you can do to make a house feel more like your home, but few are more effective than actually making changes to the overall structure of the property. That way you’re not only about to put your own stamp on the place, but you’re able to tailor it to your specific needs and preferences. Of course, deciding what kinds of changes you want to make in your home can often be pretty tricky. With that in mind, here are just a few ideas for additions that you can make to your home that will give you more rooms, more space, and more options.

Perfect Additions To Any Home

A Kitchen Extension

For many homes, the kitchen is the hub of the house. Sure, you might spend most of your time relaxing on the couch or sleeping in the bedrooms, but the kitchen is where many houses really come to life. It’s where people talk, cook, connect, and generally spend valuable time together. So why not make as much space as possible in your kitchen with an extension. That way you could turn it into a space where you not only cook meals but eat them as well. Or you can create the kind of space where people can spend time with you while you’re cooking without everyone being cramped together in a tiny space.

An Attic Conversion

Most people have a tendency to use their attic as little more than a glorified dumping ground for junk that they don’t want cluttering their home but haven’t quite figured out whether not they want to throw it away. Instead, why not turn it into a space that you can actually use? You could convert your attic into any number of useful spaces. A spare bedroom, a game room, a home office, all of these are totally viable options. Attic conversions are one of the most popular renovations that people make in their homes and with good reason!

A Conservatory

If there’s one thing that most homes could really do with a whole lot more of, it’s light. And there really is no better way to fill your home with light than to have an entire space dedicated to just that. A conservatory is a fantastic way to not only bring as much natural light as possible into your home but to allow you to enjoy your outdoor spaces, even while the weather is horrible. It might seem like a big job, but it’s actually one of the simpler renovations out there. You can buy doors online with Visual and most contractors can build conservatories fairly easily. The only thing to think about it what space the conservatory will take up. Do you want to replace an existing room or extend the house out into one of the outdoor spaces?

Of course, these are all just suggestions, and if you have things that you’d rather do with your home, that’s great! The whole point of renovations is making your home a place where you feel as comfortable and in control as possible. The changes you can make to your home are nearly endless, and they are a fantastic way to turn any house into a home that you and your family will enjoy for years, maybe even generations, to come.

I’m quite happy with our house, but would love to have a garden room for plants and sitting looking out onto the garden. It think ideally, for me, it is all about the outdoor space. I don’t need much indoors to feel like home, but a garden and a view are what it’s about for me. Some great tips though for anyone seeking to maximise the space that they have.

I would love to have a conservatory. When I was in high school I spent a lot of time at the home of my minister’s family. They had a beautiful house with a lofted conservatory overlooking their gardens and it was my absolute favorite place in the world. It was impossible to feel any stress in that room.

I wish that we could add on additional space to our home but sadly we can’t. We have however been decorating and creating additional storage space with built in cupboards and shelving. We’ve also brightened up the rooms with lots of light colours to help make it look better x

We converted the garage in our old house to turn it into a dining room and it gave us so much extra space! In our new home I’d like to see if we could convert the attic.

I’d love to not live in a one bed flat and have some more room, but until the house prices drop we can’t x

We considered an attic conversion but really didn’t have any way to make stairs to get to it easy. And no way we’re climbing a ladder each time!

If I had the chance, I would add all three of your suggestions to our house. I would love to extend the back of the house out, and create a bigger kitchen dining area. We have wonderful views of the sea from the back of our house, so it would be lovely to enjoy that more with big windows.
