In a couple of weeks time my beautiful niece, Lauren, is getting married. And (as usual) I’ve left buying my outfit until the very last minute. Honestly, you’d think by now I would have learnt that you need to be prepared when there’s a big event coming up! Anyway, I’ve spent the last few days having a good look at clothes both online and in the shops. And I’ve come up with three different outfit ideas that I really love. But now I need to choose which one is going to make the final cut. And I’d love it if you guys would help me.
I’ve popped collages of each of my outfit choices below, along with a little bit of blurb about each one. And I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know in the comments section at the end of the post which one is your favourite, and why. And the outfit with the most votes at the end of next week will be the one I go out and buy. So, are you ready? Then let’s get started …
OK, so the one thing I’ve decided on so far is that I most definitely want to wear a dress to the wedding. I’m a very girly-girl, so being able to dress up in a gorgeous floaty frock is right up my street. And I think that’s why this gorgeous cream, pink and blue floral print dip hem dress from Quiz really appeals to me! It’s very summery, which would be perfect if the last of the summer sun can hold on until the day of the wedding, and I love that it has thin shoulder straps too. The dress has a beautiful chiffon overlay, and I think it looks super elegant. It’s also been reduced from £34.99 to just £19.99, which has just got to be a bargain!
I would team the dip hem dress with a pair of stunning white and gold plated strappy sandals that I also found at Quiz. I absolutely love the style of these, and I don’t have anything else like them in my ever-growing shoe collection, which is a bonus. The sandals are made from a PU material and have a metallic gold plating on the underneath. They’re an open toe style, so I’d need to wear footless tights with them, and they have a block heel and ankle strap fastening. I think the heel is around 4 inches in height, and when I tried them on in my local Quiz store I didn’t have any trouble walking in them, thank goodness. I think they may become a little uncomfortable as the day goes on. But I believe Lauren has bought a box full of wedding flip-flops, so I could always change out of them at the reception if need be!
I always have to carry a bag with me when I go out, and I think this Dune Exie Clutch Bag in bubblegum pink would compliment the rest of the outfit just perfectly. It features a fold-over design with metallic branding on the front, and it opens to reveal two compartments – one of which fastens with a secure zip. It also has a detachable chain, so if I didn’t want to use it as a clutch bag, I could carry it on my shoulder instead.
And last but not least, I would wear one of my favourite necklaces with this outfit. And that would be my silver dreamer necklace from Cecily London. I have this on an 80cm sterling silver curb chain, so the pendant comes down to just below my bust. And it adds a little bit of boho to any outfit. I just love it!

Next up, I came across this stunning Jessica Wright Sleeveless Corded Lace Top Skater Dress at Next. Now, I have to admit that I have no idea who Jessica Wright is, but from what I’ve seen, she has an amazing line of dresses out at the moment! This particular one is by far my favourite. I love that it has a V-neck for showing off a little bit of skin, a lace top with barely-there sleeves and a skater skirt. It’s so elegant! I don’t usually opt for navy blue when I’m shopping so it’s safe to say that I have nothing else like this in my wardrobe.
I would team the skater dress with a pair of navy peep toe court shoes that I tried on in Quiz last week and found to be super comfy! The shoes are absolutely stunning and feature an all over lace and sequin fabric with diamante detailing along the top. I think they’re perfect for a special occasion, and again, I don’t have any other court shoes like this in my collection. The heel is only around 6cm as well, so I think I’d be able to wear these all day without them hurting my poor old feet too much!
As I mentioned before, I always like to carry a bag around with me when I’m out and about. And I managed to find the most beautiful navy clutch bag in Debenhams last week! The bag is by Debut, and it would make the perfect wedding accessory as it’s super elegant. The clutch is made from a satin-effect material and features a delicate lace insert with eye-catching sequin details and a chic asymmetric edge. Again, this bag comes with a chain so it can be used over the shoulder rather than as a clutch, but with the dress having a lace top I definitely wouldn’t want to risk using it like that in case I ruined it.
And then I think I would add a single pretty diamond ring to accessorize. I actually noticed that F Hinds currently have a wide range of affordable diamonds on sale, and I spent ages in there looking at them when I was out window-shopping. I thought it was going be impossible to choose one, but in the end, I opted for this beautiful 9-carat white gold diamond cluster ring. I think it goes with the navy just beautifully. What do you think?
And the last outfit I’ve put together is the one I’m most unsure about. Not because I don’t like it or anything like that. But because it features this beautiful grey chiffon embellished keyhole maxi dress from Quiz, and as I’m super short I’ve never been brave enough to try pulling off a maxi dress before! I guess there’s a first time for everything though. I know I mention it a lot, but grey is my favourite colour, which is the main reason I’m considering buying this particular dress. I love that its sort of ‘gathered’ at the top and has a tiny keyhole opening in the centre. And the embellishments on each of the shoulders and around the bodice are just stunning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a maxi dress this pretty before!
I would pair this dress with a pair of silver diamante sandals from Quiz that have multiple straps on. The sandals have a fairly high heel, which is exactly what I would need with the dress being so long. And they have a metallic finish and ankle strap fastening. I love that they have a real ‘barely there’ look about them, as it means they wouldn’t take any of the focus away from the dress. And they would go with loads of other pieces that I have in my wardrobe.
I have to be honest and say I’ve found it really difficult to find the perfect bag to go with this particular dress, but I really like this silver glitter caged box bag, which is also from Quiz. And I don’t think they look too bad together. The bag is really glitzy and features an allover glitter fabric with a stylish structured cage detail, detachable shoulder chain and inside pocket. I imagine it to be the sort of bag people will ask about as it’s so different to many of the others in the shops at the moment.
And finally, I would wear a couple of pieces of jewellery I picked up at F Hinds with this outfit. The first is a pair of 9-carat white gold loop drop earrings that I just love. They have a unique double loop of white gold in the centre with lots of diamonds dotted around the entire lower edge. They’re super stylish, and I always get lots of compliments on them whenever I wear them. And the second is my 9-carat white gold diamond wave ring. The ring is absolutely stunning, and at the point where the two wave edges meet, there’s a diagonal line of six diamond accents that add the perfect touch of sparkle to it.

And there you have it, my three outfit choices for my niece’s wedding. I would love to hear which one is your favourite, and why. I really can’t make my mind up on which one to go for. I hate never being able to make a decision. It’s a good job my life doesn’t depend on it. Haha.
Thank you for reading guys.
Keep your eyes peeled for another post coming very soon.

The first dress is definitely my fave – love anything floaty and floral!
I think that the grey maxi dress looks classy and elegant and is definitely what I would call wedding approved attire. Quiz are great as well x

Oh my gosh they’re all stunning, the grey maxi dress is probably my favourite but I think wedding wise the navy one looks best to me x

Hm I vote for either the floral dress or the grey maxi! Both are absolutely beautiful but I suppose your choice should depend on how formal the wedding is and what setting it’s at!
Gosh hard choice I love all. For me its between the grey maxi and the navy dress.

They are all lovely – but my favourite is the second navy dress. It’s beautiful – both classy and glamorous!

Option 1 and 3 speak to me more than option two and if pressed I would say option 3 regardless of the weather and 1 if the weather nice.

Id go with one of the first two because you want to feel comfortable and you say you dont normally wear maxi dresses. Id think about the wedding itself and which would be more appropriate. Or wear both! The first one would be great for the actual wedding ceremony and maybe a sit down meal and the second maybe you could change into for an evening reception!
The grey maxi dress will be perfect for the wedding. It’s very classy and will surely be appropriate for weddings.

This would be truly an exciting event. I can even recall the time we went for my friends wedding – dresses and make up are one of the things we are busy about (including gifts of course!) – I would go for the gray dress – classy and sophisticated. That will sure fit the occasion. Enjoy!
so ive got a christening on sunday , we’re doing all 7 of our children together from baby to 15 year old aso its a pretty big do . I told everyone i was ok with earing just a trouser and top but then decided ot go with a dress and ended up with a navy maxi a bit ;ike the bottom one youve got there
My favourite ensemble is definitely the long grey slinky maxi dress. Its super chic looking and I think a great colour for the end of summer as its not too summery and not wintery looking either. I love the silver diamente accents and the silver accessories. If you are consious of being that small wearing it, get yourself a pair of platforms with a block heel and wear underneath.

I love all the dresses and would say the floral one for a spring/summer wedding and the grey one for autumn/ winter wedding.
i’m very short so maxi dresses are hard for me to pull off without sky high heels too! I like the second dress and its a good style for the shorter legged! The asymetric cut of the first option is flattering too though

Arrg, so hard to pick! I think the Jessica Wright dress with those shoes looks stunning, but I keep changing my mind!
I love the blue skater dress Jessica has on. I have the exact same one. I vote for that ?
I love the first outfit, it’s absolutely gorgeous. But I’m slightly drawn to the grey outfit as it’s a bit more formal, but a bit more bridemaid-like. Arghh, number 1!
