There are few industries that are more reliable than the cosmetics industry. It’s probably always going to not only survive, but grow and thrive. The simple reason for that is the fact that people always want to make the best possible impression on each other. To do that, they have to look their best. Of course, that’s easier for some people than for others, especially when age becomes a factor. If you’re finding yourself less confident about your appearance as you get older, anti-aging procedures, such as those involving lasers, might be able to help you.
Why Not Try Creams and Lotions, Instead?
There are plenty of creams and lotions out there that claim to reverse or slow down wrinkles and other signs of aging. So, you might be wondering what the big deal is about having laser therapy when you could just try a good lotion or cream. Well, that is certainly an option, but creams and lotions can take a long time to work, if they work at all. Lasers tend to be faster and more reliable, assuming you choose the right type of laser therapy.
The Different Types of Laser Treatments
One type of laser treatment is Fraxal, which is short for fractional photothemolysis. A fraxal laser essentially creates microscopic shafts down deep into the skin. The idea is that the undamaged cells around those shafts or columns of damage will start to send help to the damaged cells, allowing them to grow back healthier and stronger.
Another form of cosmetic laser device is an ablative laser. Ablative lasers are extremely powerful, but with that power comes some higher risks. Since all layers of your skin will be treated, you’re likely to experience bleeding and oozing skin for a little while after the procedure. That means that your recovery could take a little while and you’ll have to be careful about developing possible infections. So, you should follow any instructions your technician gives you to the letter, even after you leave the clinic.
A third option is to have non-ablative laser treatment. A non-ablative device won’t actually have any major impact on your top layer of skin. That means that bleeding isn’t a likely side effect. However, non-ablative lasers are only capable of treating minor skin problems, since they aren’t as strong as ablative or fraxal treatments.
Take Your Time Making a Final Decision
When it comes to treatment with laser devices, there are really two decisions to be made. You don’t just have to decide which laser treatment to have, but also whether or not you should have one at all. That’s why you should always take your time and consult an expert. They can go over all of your options with you, including sound wave treatment, various types of peels, microdermabrasion, and more.
As long as you follow expert advice, there’s no reason you have to live with your wrinkles and other signs of aging. The right skincare treatments can help you to maintain a more youthful appearance. That way you will always be confident that you are looking your best.

Or you could just accept the fact that the body will age as you grow older and save yourself a fortune on cosmetics and lotions and potions. Good post but not for me. I’m more than happy to display all my lines and wrinkles. I’ve earned them.
I hadn’t thought of anti-agining using laser treatment — it’s definitely an interesting option.

I have never thought of laser surgery – and I don’t think I ever would. I do think we should grow old naturally. Kaz x

I never knew you could use lasers as part of anti aging, I always thought they were for hair removal.
I think I’d rather have other treatments, there are plenty of others thatcher a lot less evasive on your skin.

I’d like to think that when I start to age, I won’t turn to laser treatments and would opt for creams and potions instead 🙂

I’ve heard of lasers being used for hair but never really to reduce signs of ageing. Very interesting!
