This review of Bobux Soft Sole Shoes was originally published on 15th December 2014, but I wanted to re-publish it for you today just incase any of you were after some shoes for your own little ones.
Despite lots of disapproving comments from friends and family members, I have always insisted that Oscar didn’t need to start wearing shoes until it was absolutely necessary. When this would be, I had no idea, but up until recently I was adamant that ‘now wasn’t the time’.
A couple of weeks ago though, Oscar started taking a few tentative steps all by himself and I decided that maybe now was the time to buy him some shoes that were appropriate for his age and stage. And it was then that I remembered we’d been sent some beautiful shoes to try out by the lovely people over at Bobux.

Bobux are originally from New Zealand, but they now sell their innovative range of baby and toddler shoes all over the world. I had originally thought that they only sold shoes online, but have since discovered that they’re actually available in many a shoe store up and down the country (although sadly, none are located anywhere near me).
I found the shoes out one morning before we were due to head out for some food and Oscar wanted to put them on straight away. As I’d never tried him with shoes before I was really surprised by this. I started by letting him hold them and he tried to put them on by himself, then I put his feet into them and watched as he squealed in delight and started kicking his feet up and down. He then had a good look at them, pointed and said “There”.

The shoes themselves are really good quality and are made from eco-leather. They have a soft, non-slip suede sole and the top part is elasticated, which is great as it means the shoes are lovely and secure but will also allow them to ‘grow’ with your child’s feet.
The range of soft sole shoes at Bobux is immense. At the time of writing this there were 69 different pairs available in the boys section, and even more in the girls! Each of the shoes features a beautiful eye-catching design. I’m sure you’ll agree that the ones we were sent are lovely. They are beige with a brown fox on the upper part of the shoe, and Oscar spends ages looking at them every day!
Bobux soft sole shoes also come in a wide range of sizes, starting at 0-3 months and ending at 2-5 years. I would definitely consider buying these shoes in bigger sizes once Oscar can walk independently as they are a great alternative to slippers due to them offering barefoot comfort and protection for developing feet.
If, like me, you’re not sure what size feet your little one has, Bobux suggests you can measure them at home by following these 4 simple steps:-
- Ask your child to stand on a piece of paper (I got Nathan to hold Oscar while we did this part as there’s no way he would have stood still).
- Draw around both feet with a ballpoint pen or pencil.
- With a ruler, measure the length of both foot outlines.
- Write down the measurement of the longest foot in millimetres.
You can then use their handy chart to find the correct sized shoe. I loved this feature as I was worried about choosing shoes that would be way too big or small.
Overall we absolutely love Bobux shoes. Oscar wants to put them on as soon as we get up in a morning and he leaves them on all day. They will definitely get a lot of use over the next few months, and I think they’re great value for money.
When Stacey was a toddler I didn’t know of Bobux, so I used to buy her shoes from Clarks. And if I had to choose which of the two I thought was the best then I would 100% say Bobux. They’re just wonderful.
As I mentioned before, there are loads of other fantastic designs available and I’m hoping to order Oscar a new pair after Christmas as we love them so much. I’ve narrowed it down to six pairs to choose from, but I love them all so much that I just can’t decide which ones to get!

Ahh they’re too cute! Unfortunately my boy would be too big for these now! xx
I used to fit kids shoes for a living and I loved these soft soled shoes for the babies. It’s a great practice shoe to get them used to it and protects their little toes when they’re crawling. Also, bonus, these ones have animals on them. 🙂
