Balance Me are a brand I’ve loved for a good few years now. Their award winning products not only work fantastically, but they’re also really honest and upfront about what does and doesn’t go into them when they’re made. Last week I noticed that Glamour Magazine were giving away 1 of 4 free samples of Balance Me products with their April issue, and since their Radiance Face Mask that I’ve been wanting to try out for ages was one of them, I decided to pick up a copy so I could finally give it a whirl!
First of all I want to point out that this is a very generous sample size. 30ml to be precise. So if this has been on your radar for a while now I’d definitely recommend buying Glamour for just £2 and getting this rather than spending £18 on the full sized 75ml version.
The mask comes in a white squeezy tube with a splash of vibrant purple colour on the front. The product itself is quite a lot creamier than any of the other face masks I have in my stash, but I found that this worked to my advantage as it made it a lot easier to work into my skin. The mask contains tiny bits of ground walnut shells, which exfoliate the skin as you smooth it over your face. I think this is a great addition as I like to use a both a mask and an exfoliator once a week, and having a multi-tasking product like this to hand means that I can save money and cupboard space … genius!!
I’ve used this product a few times now and I’ve come to realise that I don’t need to be as careful as I do with other masks when I apply it as no matter how much I put on, my face never looks as though I’m caked in it. It also doesn’t set hard or tighten on the skin once it’s dried. Instead it goes slightly firm and stays a little tacky. Balance Me recommend you leave the mask on for up to five minutes, before removing with a damp cotton cloth.
The first time I used this mask I had a couple of blemishes on my chin, and I noticed that it really dried them up. In fact, they were both gone within 24 hours. Obviously I can’t guarantee that it had anything to do with this mask, but I honestly think it did. I hadn’t used any other new products in my skincare routine, and I hadn’t applied any spot creams or gels to them. And even though the product dried the spots up, I didn’t feel that the rest of my face felt dry. In fact, my skin seemed to really glow and I didn’t notice any tingling like I sometimes do with other masks.
The Balance Me Radiance Face Mask is 98% natural, and the scent to it is absolutely gorgeous. I’m rubbish at describing scents but I would say it has a fresh, plant like smell to it with a hint of something fruity. I love it and could sit sniffing at it all day. Yum!
Balance Me also promise that their products don’t contain any parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, dea, pegs or propylene glycol and absolutely no artificial colours or fragrances. That’s got to be a good thing, right?
Overall I think the Radiance Face Mask is a fab little product that I would most definitely consider repurchasing in full size. It does exactly what it says on the tube and that’s exactly what I want from my products. Brilliant.
