A good beauty routine is a good investment. It’s a non-negotiable agreement for a lot of people that money has to be spent on skincare and makeup, whether it’s for the good of your skin health or simply because you enjoy the art form of applying makeup and letting your personality shine through.
Nevertheless, it’s still an area that can easily slip into expensive means if you’re overspending. Therefore, if you’re looking to cut back on how much you spend on your beauty routine, let the following guidelines help you.

INVEST MORE IN YOUR SKINCARE
If you find that you’re spending more money than you would like on certain beauty products to mask blemishes and conceal certain skin issues, then you might want to switch to paying more attention to your actual skincare routine rather than your beauty one. If you can invest in the right items to improve the appearance and health of your skin, then you will need a lot less makeup down the line, meaning you will save heaps of money usually spent on concealing products.
Think about researching proper skincare methods such as moisturising, cleansing, and toning. These can all help to improve the appearance of your skin and would be much more worthy investments if you’re tired of spending a fortune on makeup.
SEARCH FOR DEALS
When it comes to makeup and skincare items, you’ll often be buying several items at once, or at least more than one. Take advantage of this by looking out for 2 for one deals or discount prices if you buy a certain number of products from a specific brand. If you’re going to need the items anyway, you may as well look for great discounts.
Also, look out for beauty coupons and discount codes, like a Boots discount code, so you can save even more money when you come to buy your products.
LEARN HOW TO APPLY SKINCARE PRODUCTS PROPERLY
You’ve undoubtedly already got a favourite way to apply your beauty items – but this doesn’t mean you’re correctly applying them, or that there is no room for improvement.
A lot of people don’t know the best way to apply certain products, or else are used to applying items in a certain way without knowing about a better option.
If you learn how to apply beauty items properly and understand the right amount needed for each product, you will use and waste less, and therefore save money by buying items frequently. This is particularly true of liquid foundations and moisturisers, as you can extend their life by using less – to the same result.
You may need less foundation and creams than you think if you take the time to learn how to apply them more effectively, and less thickly.
THINK ABOUT MULTI-USE PRODUCTS
If you’re spending too much on separate items, such as a face wash, cleanser, and toner, why not consider a 3 in 1 solution which still does the job, but only comes with one price tag? Also, think about getting creative with items of makeup which have a dual purpose; pink eyeshadow can also work effectively as cheek blush, brown eyeshadow may work to fill in your brows quickly and you can use lighter powders to help with your contouring – meaning you can save money by avoiding extra products!
