5 Reasons Why Cardiff Is A Great place to Study

With Cardiff University being one of the top 5 universities in the UK, there are lots of students trying to get a spot. Their reputation is extremely credible and it is also situated in a nice area in Cardiff with lots of culture and history. When students are looking to study there, there are a lot of things they may wish to consider. This includes the following:

Cardiff University

Awesome Accommodation 

You will find that there are many different options for student accommodation in Cardiff at reasonable prices. This ranges from rented student houses to luxury apartments designed with student living in mind. If you are looking for something on the upper end of quality, then you should consider Collegiate’s accommodation in Cardiff. These are student rooms designed specifically for students of the local colleges and universities. The rooms themselves are of high quality but they also have common rooms, gyms and cinema rooms to help allow a level of socialisation amongst the occupants. There are also areas where you can get good student advice to help you along your way, but also give support and guidance on what options you can go on to when coming to the end of your studies.

The country of Wales is an extremely beautiful place and even has its own language. They are very well known for having good carol singers and being incredibly good at Rugby for a nation of just over 3 million people. They are closely connected to their English colleagues and the transport network connecting the two is extremely credible. Many people take time out to go and holiday in Wales, specifically at the sea, and you will never be far from fantastic scenery and hills.

Cardiff Nightlife


Cardiff is a pretty large city and is the capital of Wales. The nightlife here is what you would expect from major cities where you will be spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants, bars, clubs and cinemas. There are many bars aimed specifically for those at college or university and they will advertise specific student discounts. There are also several cultural areas that include art museums and galleries.

When studying in Cardiff, you won’t be far from a vast amount of shops and there are two massive well-known shopping centres in the city. This includes the one in Queen Street and the other in St David’s where there are loads of credible brand stores at your disposal. Along the waterfront at Cardiff Bay there is also some fantastic stores (and some restaurants and bars).

Cardiff Bus


There are many credible great transport links in and around Cardiff. This includes their own international airport. It may not be as big as London Heathrow but has a lot of good (mainly domestic) flight options. There is also a large rail network going through the city and also a bus timetable going to all corners of the city.

    I am trying to convince Mr.A that we should buy a house in Cardiff when we finally save enough – we won’t be studying but the Mini’s would be and this has just convinced me even more that we could have a good life here!

    Cardiff does have so much appeal, it is a vibrant place. I can imagine it would be a lovely area to live in.

    It sounds like a great city to be at University in! I went to Warwick & we had to rely on the Uni’s own entertainment as there wasn’t a huge amount of things locally. Wales is a beautiful country

    I love Cardiff! I love in Swansea and went to my birthday here but my husband (boyfriend at the time) studied in Cardiff as did one of my best friends so I’ve been there a lot and the nightlife is fab. As a welsh girl I can definitely vouch for how beautiful Wales is! Everyone I know who’ve lived and studied in Cardiff has loved it xx

    When I left London I bought a flat in the then being built Cardiff Bay. I loved living there! Fab city
