Oh, my goodness! How nice is the weather here in the UK, guys? I don’t think I’ve ever known it be so hot! Consequently, I don’t have enough summery items in my wardrobe to keep me going during this heatwave. So I’ve spent the last few weeks looking for some nice new items to update it with. Whilst looking, I found myself checking out the Simply Be website. And after an hour or so of browsing, I found I had quite a lot of different bits and pieces of theirs on my list of things to buy.
Since I know you guys thoroughly enjoy a good old fashion wishlist, I thought I’d share it here on my blog with you today. I’ve tried to choose a nice mix of different items, from dresses and playsuits, to t-shirts, swimwear and shorts. So, are you sitting comfortably? Then let’s dive right in and let me show you my top 10 picks for summer.
First up, I definitely want to treat myself to some new swimwear. And as they have an amazing selection of swimwear on simplybe.co.uk, it was really hard to choose my favourite! I eventually opted for this gorgeous black studded swimsuit which has a plunging neckline and fixed foam cups for extra support. The swimsuit features tie details on the neck and back for a comfortable fit. And I can imagine feeling super glam wearing this at the side of the pool when I go on holiday. It’s just gorgeous. What do you guys think?
If there’s one thing my wardrobe is seriously lacking in, it has to be short sleeved tops. So I definitely need to pick some up for my summer wardrobe this year. I absolutely love this tropical print top I found on the Simply Be website. It’s right up my alley! The top is black with an all-over tropical print and has batwing sleeves and a round neck. I feel like you could dress it up or down, and it would go with a lot of different things in my wardrobe. I’d most definitely get a lot of wear out of it. I love it.
I love t-shirts with embroidery on, so when I came across this cactus print one from Simply Be I just knew I had to add it to this year’s summer wishlist! The t-shirt itself is a round-necked, plain ivory one with cute little cactus motifs embroidered at the front. I think it would look fab paired with shorts, jeggings or jeans, and I could see myself getting a lot of wear out of it over the summer months. It’s fab!
If you’re anything like me, you’ll love a good cold shoulder top. And I really want to add this white one from Simply Be to my ever-growing collection! I think it would make a great wardrobe staple with its on-trend ruffle sleeves and round neckline. I like that it’s fairly long in the body so I wouldn’t end up with my stomach on show. And it fastens at the back with a gold button and loop fastening. I think the top could be styled beautifully with a long necklace or statement tassel earrings for a pop of colour, and I’d wear it dressed down in the daytime with ripped skinny jeans or dressed up in the evening with an elegant black skirt. Isn’t it beautiful?
Something else I wear a lot during the summer months is playsuits. And I’ve been lusting after this gorgeous mustard coloured one from Simply Be for a while now. I love the all-over floral print it has on it, and the colour is absolutely stunning. I’m loving mustard right now! What’s more, Simply Be have lots of swimwear bits in the same colour and pattern as this, so I could buy those to wear at the beach, then throw this over the top when I’m popping to fetch an ice cream or something. Perfect.
As much as I love wearing dresses in the summertime, I never usually opt for white ones. But since I came across this gorgeous white skater dress at Simply Be I can’t get it off of my mind – how pretty is it?! It’s fun, feminine and fabulous, and the short style allows you to show a little leg, while the soft, light fabric ensures you’ll feel comfortable all summer long. The dress has an elasticated waistband that flatters your figure, and I love the little tassel detail it has too. I think this would be perfect to wear teamed with sandals or flip-flops during the hot summer days, but I can imagine it looking lovely dressed up as evening wear too. So cute!
It’s safe to say that maxi dresses are a summer wardrobe essential, and this year I’m loving this geo print one from Simply Be. It’s sure to be a head-turner! Featuring a fitted bodice and graphic pleated maxi skirt, it will command attention at any occasion. I have a night out with my friend Michelle coming up soon, and this would be perfect to wear for it. It’s absolutely stunning.
This year I’m wanting to inject a bit more colour to my summer wardrobe. And I’m currently in love with this vibrant all-over print midi skirt from Simply Be. It’s just perfect for this time of year! I feel that the skirt is very festival inspired, and it reminds me a little of the style of skirt that Esmeralda wears in Disney’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’. I absolutely love the eye-catching red colour and the statement frill at the front, and I think this would look gorgeous teamed with the white cold-shoulder top I talked about earlier. What do you think?
I’m in desperate need of some new denim shorts this year, as the pair that I have have been worn so much they’ve worn out! Distressed denim is big news this summer, so this pair of washed black shorts from Simply Be would make the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. Ideal for holidays and festivals, the shorts are made from a super stretchy denim that’s great for everyday comfort and fit. And I think they’d look lovely with all three of the tops I talked about earlier. If I picked these up I know they’d be sure to get a lot of wear. They’re fab!
And last but not least on my Simply Be Summer Wishlist is this pair of gorgeous printed shorts with a deep shirred elasticated waist. I don’t have anything like this in my wardrobe at present, so I think they would make a lovely addition. The shorts are made of a lightweight, crinkle fabric and are easy to pull on and off. And I think the print is just stunning. I love them.
And there you have it, my Simply Be Summer Wishlist. I hope you enjoyed having a read of it as much as I enjoyed putting it together, and that you took away a little bit of fashion inspiration for the summer months.
