Food Glorious Food

Food is one of the best things in the world, isn’t it? It cures sadness, helps to heal a broken heart, and is the cure to hangryness. The power it has to make us feel either really good, or really bad is amazing. In this day and age, there’s so many different recipes to please absolutely everyone out there. Long gone are the days of restricted recipes. We’re living in one of the best times to be alive in terms of food, and things are only getting better. Chefs around the world are experimenting with new flavours and ingredients to create the most tasty dishes. But what is it about food that makes it so damn good? Well read on and see what you think.

Food Glorious Food

As I said in the first paragraph, food has the power to make you feel either really good, or really bad. Have you ever spent the evening tucking into a packet of biscuits or chocolate, then woke up the next day to feel a little sluggish? Well, as good as bad foods taste, they are bad. The food is full of sugar and additives that in the moment, leave us feeling great. But in your sleep you’ll go through a sugar crash that’ll leave you feeling a little slow in the morning. That’s not to mention the damage it can do to your skin. If you’re a girl, you’ll know that eating bad foods before a big event the next day is a little risky. Eating fatty sugar filled food has a tendency to cause breakouts. Definitely not what you need before a big date. So why do we continue to indulge in the things that make us bad? Well, they just taste too good. The feel good effect they have is really powerful. Let’s face it, you don’t get the same level of satisfaction that you would if you’d ate a salad, would you? Chocolate is there for us when we’re happy, sad, tired, energetic.

Bad food seems to be our best friend and always will be. But what about healthy foods? Yes they may be a little bland compared to other foods, but you can make them into really tasty and nutritious meals. Even something simple like poached eggs and avocado on toast is really filling and good for you. Avocado and eggs go together really well to create a tasty duo. It’ll give you the healthy boost of energy you need to get you through the day. It can help to keep skin clear, and generally keep you upbeat.

One things that compliments food perfectly is a good drink. Each dish has its own drink that’s suitable for it. For example, they say that red wine goes perfectly with a roast beef dinner. Or even something simple like cookies and milk. Drink and food combinations are just perfect. If you go to a nice restaurant, they’ll usually advise you on what to have to compliment the dish. But there’s certain combinations that are common knowledge, just like the one above. If you go out with friends to Costa, you know that a coffee and cake is just a magical combination. Chains such as Costa are also being eco-friendly, which makes it all the more worth spending your pennies. Biodegradable takeaway cups can help reduce waste, and big chained companies know this and are making a conscious effort to use them. If there’s one thing us Brits are bad for, it’s dumping our rubbish on the floor. Food can’t be glorious if you aren’t helping the environment that created it.

Food is also one of the best ways to have a get together. It brings people closer like nothing else can. If you’re looking for a way to meet up with friends, you should definitely suggest a lunch or dinner date. There’s so many great restaurants out there to try and there’s nothing better than catching up over some good food. Food also seems to be the go to choice for a first date option. Restaurants up and down the country will have witnessed so many first dates, and the magical moment a relationship can be formed. Even if you’re just trying to get together with family, food has the power to bring everyone together. The moral of the story here is, our lives revolve around food, and nearly every occasion you can think of can be made amazing with food.

As delicious new dishes are being created all the time, we doubt we’ll ever get bored of food.
