Valentines Gift Guide for Her

Valentines Gift Guide for HerCan you believe that Valentines Day is almost upon us again? And if you’re still struggling to find that perfect present for the lady in your life then never fear, Lou is here!

This year I’ve picked out 20 items that are sure to be well received. And I’ve managed to cover all budgets, starting from around the £4 mark, all the way up to around £200. So, without further ado, let me talk you through this year’s Valentines Gift Guide for Her. I hope you find it useful.

Crabtree & Evelyn All Butter Rose & White Chocolate Biscuits

Crabtree & Evelyn Limited Edition All Butter Rose & White Chocolate Biscuits – £5*

It’s no secret that I absolutely love Crabtree & Evelyn biscuits, so I was over the moon when they asked if I’d like to try their Limited Edition All Butter Rose & White Chocolate Biscuits in honour of Valentines Day. The biscuits come beautifully packaged in a tin adorned with a floral pattern. I like it when biscuits are packaged like this as the lid tends to be nice and tight, so the contents stay fresher for longer.

The biscuits themselves are traditionally baked all butter ones that contain elegant crystallised rose petals and delicious chunks of white chocolate. Stacey and I have been enjoying eating these as a delicious after-dinner treat, and we both agree that they taste like a posh shortbread biscuit. They have just the right amount of crunch, and they melt in the mouth.

Stacey was worried that she wouldn’t like the crystallised rose petals, but to be honest you can’t tell they’re there as you just get the buttery taste of the biscuit, followed by the sweetness of the chocolate. They’re absolutely divine and I really hope I can get my hands on another tin of these soon! They’d certainly make a sweet treat for your loved one this Valentines Day.

Personalised Foiled Reasons I Love You Notes

Personalised Foiled Reasons I Love You Notes – £14-£20

Next up, I’ve chosen something that I think is quite a unique gift to give to a loved one this Valentines Day. A beautiful foiled box containing 10 note cards hidden in metallic envelopes, each one for sharing a different reason why you love your other half or to share happy memories from your relationship.

The box comes in a choice of two colours, peach or blue, and the front is personalised with the lucky recipient’s name in gold or silver foiling. You also have the choice of being able to handwrite each of the note cards yourself or have your love reasons printed on them as shown in the picture above.

I absolutely love the idea of showing someone how much you care about them in this way, as it’s easy to forget in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And of course, they’ll be able to keep the cards forever as a reminder of your feelings for them. Aww.

Sleepy Cat Oil Burner

Sleepy Cat Oil Burner – £15

Home fragrance always goes down well with us lovely ladies, and at the moment I’m enjoying burning essential oils in this handmade Sleepy Cat Oil Burner that I recently picked up from a shop called ‘Zeniba’s Attic’ on Etsy. I absolutely love the design of this, and it looks super cute sat on my mantelpiece. Everyone who’s visited over the past few weeks have said how much they love it.

The oil burner is made of ceramic and hand painted to a really high standard. It is around 10cm in height and has a small base compared to all of my other burners, but this is something I’m really happy about as it means it fits perfectly on my slim mantel, whereas I usually have to stand them on a table!

I only ever use cheap oils in my burners, as I can’t tell any difference between those and the ridiculously expensive ones. The ones I’m using at the moment are from a brand called Pan Aroma, and I found them at a bargain price on Amazon.

What I do is pop a little water into the top of the burner, and then add 2-3 drops of the oil to it. This is enough to fill my entire house with fragrance and they last so much longer than candles do. I’m sure that the lovely lady in your life would be happy to receive one of these for Valentines Day this year. How about you?

Brass Cupid's Arrow Keyring

Brass Cupid’s Arrow Keyring – £15.99

When I spotted these brass cupid’s arrow keyrings on the Toxic Fox website I knew straight away that I had to include them in this year’s Valentines Gift Guide for Her!

The actual keyring part is heart shaped, and then it has the cutest solid raw brass arrow charm dangling from it. The arrow-head can be even be engraved with up to 3 initials. I think this is a super cute idea, and as I’m in need of a new keyring I’m actually considering treating myself to one and having my children’s initials (S&O) engraved onto it.

The keyring comes presented in a beautiful gift box, and the lucky recipient also gets a card that reads ‘Be My Valentine’. How romantic is that? I haven’t seen any keyrings like this on the market before so I think they’d be gratefully received by the lovely lady in your life. Stunning!

Leather Travel Jewellery Box

Leather Travel Jewellery Box – £35

If the lady in your life travels a lot then I can think of no better gift to give them than this beautiful leather travel jewellery box from The White Company. It would be perfect for storing all her favourite pieces while she’s away, and it has different compartments for necklaces, earrings and rings etc.

The jewellery box has a magnetic closure to ensure everything is kept safe and secure inside, and when it’s not been used on the move, it can be placed on her dressing table for everyday use.

I personally love how sleek and stylish this looks, and the leather is white with a sort of mock croc effect to it. It’s bang on trend and I certainly wouldn’t be disappointed to find one of these in my possession come Valentines Day. I love it!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced ‘Sweet Peach’ Eyeshadow Palette – £39

If the lady in your life is a fan of beauty and makeup products then I recommend treating her to the Too Faced ‘Sweet Peach’ eyeshadow palette? This particular palette is highly sought after, and contains 18 different shades of eyeshadow with delicious sounding names such as ‘Peaches ‘N Cream’, ‘Bellini’ and ‘Summer Yum’. Oh, and did I mention that it smells of peaches as well? Eek.

I think that the ‘Sweet Peach’ palette has a good range of different, wearable shadow shades, making it a great gift to give to any lady who enjoys wearing makeup. And Too Faced products are really high quality too, so you don’t have to worry about buying something that’s going to get tossed in the bin after the first use. The pink and peachy shades also double up as blushers too. How cool is that?

This palette is bound to get hearts racing this Valentines Day, so be a peach and treat your loved one to something she’s going to get a lot of joy from. She won’t be disappointed gentlemen, I promise! Debenhams also have a wide range of other amazing eyeshadow palette’s available if you don’t think this is the one for her. Why not head on over and take a look at their range?

Wedgwood Blue Bird Espresso Cup & SaucerWedgwood Blue Bird Espresso Cup & Saucer

Wedgwood Blue Bird Espresso Cup & Saucer – £20*

Many women will tell you that they can’t function until they’ve had several cups of coffee to kick-start their day! And if you know someone like this then you really can’t go wrong by gifting them something like a cup or a mug. At the moment I’m loving this Wedgwood Espresso Cup & Saucer in their Blue Bird pattern.

This little cup and saucer are absolutely beautiful, and it’s the perfect size for using with my new coffee machine (review coming soon). In the past, I’ve always found that my espresso cups have been a little too small to use with modern coffee machines, and I’d find it annoying that I’d have to stand and watch it dispense so I could whip one out and replace it with another before I ended up with loads of overspill!

As I mentioned before, I absolutely love the blue bird pattern, even though there aren’t actually any birds present on the espresso cup or saucer. I know they definitely feature on the rest of the collection, though. Instead, you have a palette of beautiful blue blooms, with the odd little butterfly fluttering around.

I’ve wanted to own a piece of Wedgwood ever since I was a young adult, and I feel oh-so-sophisticated drinking from my espresso cup. I really think it would make a beautiful Valentines gift. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Personalised Champagne

Personalised Champagne – £48.50

If your Valentine likes to get a bottle of something nice for special occasions then how about treating her to some champagne with her name and a special message on the label?

The bottle contains a fine bubbly to toast any occasion, and it comes presented in a beautiful silk lined gift box. The label can be personalised with the lucky recipient’s name, the year (such as their birth year, the year you got together or even the current year) and a special message.

I remember having Nathan’s name and year of birth put on the label of a bottle of brandy for Fathers Day once, and he still tells people that it was one of the best presents he’s ever had. And he’s so hard to please, which I think proves that this sort of gift goes down really well. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, he never drank it. It has pride of place in his brandy cabinet!

Thread Through Heart Necklace in Rose Gold

Thread Through Heart Necklace in Rose Gold – £12

Rose gold is having a serious moment right now. And it’s no surprise really as it’s simply stunning. One of my favourite ways to incorporate it into my life is to wear rose gold jewellery, and my favourite piece at the moment is this dainty thread through heart necklace from a brand I discovered last year called Orelia.

At just £12, the necklace is super affordable, and it’s set on a short, 39cm chain. It has a delicate heart shaped pendant threaded onto it and is perfect for both everyday wear and special occasions. I picked one of these up for myself towards the end of last year and so many people have asked where it’s from as it looks so pretty on.

I think this would make a gorgeous gift for the lady in your life, but if rose gold isn’t really her thing then Orelia do the same necklace in both silver and gold. Aren’t they beautiful?

Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful EDP

Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful EDP – £43.50 for 70ml*

I’m a big fan of really nice, fruity fragrances, and Leighton Denny’s Light & Dark Delightful is the perfect Valentines Day scent for anyone else who does! The fragrance is described as having an explosion of red fruits that makes your mouth water from the first hit. And I’d totally agree with that.

Light & Dark Delightful has top notes of Ah Ping, Blood Orange, Watermelon, and Red Apple. Middle notes of Mirabilis Jasmine, Lotus Flower, and Pink Violet. And base notes of Sweet Musk, Cream Vanilla, and Light Coconut Sorbet. Now, I have to tell you that perfumes with musk in usually give me a headache, but this one doesn’t, which is great.

I’ve been using Leighton Denny’s Light & Dark Delightful since just before Christmas, and it’s fast become a firm favourite in my fragrance collection. I love everything about it, from the beautiful packaging and the scent to how long it lasts on my skin when I spritz it on. I rarely have to top it up during the daytime! I think the younger generation of women would really like this fragrance, and it would be bound to go down a treat this Valentines Day. Love it!

Love Potion Tumbler

Love Potion Tumbler – £14.95

If the love of your life is young and trendy then she’ll definitely appreciate something like this tumbler from one of my current favourite brands,

The tumbler is a pale pink colour and has the words ‘Love Potion’ emblazoned across the front in a beautiful font. It has little love hearts surrounding the text and these can also be seen on the opaque acrylic straw that comes with it as well. It has a screw-top lid and I think it would be perfect for loved ones to take their cold drinks out and about in once the weather gets a little warmer. It’s so cute. I love it!

Lily Belle Carved Heart Personalised Candle

Lily Belle Carved Heart Personalised Candle – £29

Like many women, I’m a big fan of burning candles. And when I spotted this carved heart personalised candle from a brand called Lily Belle, I just knew I had to include it in this year’s Valentines Gift Guide!

This stunning candle is hand poured into a glass container, with the initials of you and your Valentine carved onto the front, inside a love heart. When the candle is lit and the wick has started to burn down it illuminates the letters and looks really, really pretty.

The candle has a burn time of around 40 hours and is available in 5 different colours. 4 of the colours are in a sweet pea and white jasmine scent, but I chose to feature the black jar today as this one smells of amber and vanilla: two scents that I really love! I also like that you can reuse the jar once all the candle has burnt away. All you have to do is clean the jar out and then place a tealight in the bottom to continue using it. Pretty cool, huh?

Charlotte Tilbury Natural Glowing Look

Charlotte Tilbury Natural Glowing Look – £55

Another makeup gift I think would be perfect to give to a loved one this Valentines Day is the Charlotte Tilbury 5 Minute Makeup Look kit in ‘Natural Glowing Look’. In this kit you get a gorgeous semi see through cosmetics pouch with rose gold lips printed all over the front, and 5 makeup products that can be used to create a glowy, everyday look.

In this particular kit you’ll find:

  • A Mini Wonder Glow Skin Illuminator
  • A Mini Legendary Lashes Mascara in Black
  • A Full Sized Colour Chameleon Colour-Morphing Eyeshadow Pencil in Amber Haze (a gorgeous bronze shade)
  • A Full Sized Beach Stick in Moonbeach (which can be used as a lipstick or a blush)
  • and A Full Sized Matte Lipstick in the shade Very Victoria

All the products in the kit are absolutely beautiful, and when used together they create the most gorgeous, dewy, everyday makeup look. I’ve been loving using them and will be posting a full review of them really soon, so make sure you look out for that.

There are also 3 other kits available in this particular collection, including daytime chic, smokey evening and red carpet party looks. There really is something for everyone, and the quality of these products is amazing. They apply beautifully, last all day and just look amazing. A total winner!

I Long For You Sausage Dog Biscuits

‘I Long for You’ Sausage Dog Biscuits – £12.50

Looking for a bit of a cheesy gift to give to your Valentine this year? Then how about these delicious looking biscuits from Honeywell Bakes with a super cute picture of a sausage dog on? It’s a great way to show someone how much you long for them!

Each box includes 4 vanilla flavoured biscuits, with three of them making up the body of the dog and the fourth conveying a longing message for your loved one. I hadn’t seen anything like this before, so I think they’d make a really unique gift that is sure to make the lady in your life chuckle this Valentines Day.

Maui Jim 'Rising Sun' Sunglasses

Maui Jim ‘Rising Sun’ Sunglasses – £199*

OK, I know it’s only February and you probably think us ladies wouldn’t be interested in receiving sunglasses as a gift right now. But trust me, guys, we would!

I only ever treat myself to sunglasses that are affordable, so it’s always a nice surprise when someone splashes out on a really nice, more expensive pair for me. At the moment I’m loving a brand called Maui Jim, who stock some really fantastic pairs of sunglasses. The ones I have are the ‘Rising Sun’ ones, and they are really modern, oversized frames which are said to be designed with larger faces in mind, but to be honest I have a child’s size face and they look and feel fine on me.

The pair I have are in a burgundy colour, but they’re also available in matte tortoise and matte black. The frames are crafted with a lightweight nylon material, which creates a trendy look for both men and women. I’ve worn mine a few times recently when the sun has poked its head out from behind the clouds and I’ve had so many lovely comments about them. They’re fab! Oh, and they also come with a case, which is fab as I’ve been known to just chuck my other sunnies into my handbag when I’ve not been wearing them and they’ve ended up getting scratched to bits. Which is not good – not good at all!

I love these sunglasses, though, and I think they’re most definitely worth the money. If you’ve been planning on spending quite a bit of money on your Valentine this year then I’d definitely try to persuade you to consider a pair of these. Have you caved yet?! Hehe.

Pink Sparkling Wine & Heart Chocolates

Pink Sparkling Wine & Heart Chocolates – £20

Many women like to receive quite traditional gifts like chocolate and wine on Valentines Day, and I think Marks and Spencer have nailed that particular combo with this £20 gift set that includes a bottle of delicious Pink Sparkling Spumante and heart-shaped gold shimmer chocolates presented in a gorgeous gold gift box.

The chocolates have a truly scrumptious soft mango caramel centre, and the quality of them is second to none. I’m not surprised about that, to be honest, as everything I’ve ever bought from the M&S food hall has been fantastic. If you picked this up for your loved one she certainly wouldn’t be disappointed.

Heart Shaped Headphone Splitter

Heart Shaped Headphone Splitter – £15.99

If there’s one thing that bugs me in life, it’s seeing people share headphones. I don’t mind it when it’s the old style ones, where they sit on top of your ears, but I hate it when it’s the earbud style ones that actually sit inside your ear. I mean, it can cause a whole host of nasty ear infections from sharing them. Yuck!

So, if you enjoy listening to music with your other half, why not try a headphone splitter instead? That way, you can both use your own headphones without running the risk of catching any nasty infections. I love this heart-shaped headphone splitter that I found on Amazon. You basically just plug it into the headphone jack on either your phone or tablet and then two sets of headphones or ear buds/pods can be plugged into the  heart. Then if you press the play button on your device you’ll both be able to listen to the music through your own headphones! They work brilliantly, and the sound quality will be a lot better than it would be if you were sharing headphones too.

I bought my daughter a headphone splitter for Easter last year and it’s one of the presents she’s had the most use out of because she always takes it on school trips etc. so she can listen to music with her friends in a nice, hygienic way.

White Heart Print Dressing Gown

White Heart Print Dressing Gown – £17.99

If practical gifts are more your thing then I think you’ll like this white heart print dressing gown from New Look. It has a nice, casual fit, is soft and fluffy, and has an all over heart print in shades of red, pink and grey.

I like this particular dressing gown as it has a belted middle, which I much prefer over the button-down ones, and it’s not too big and fussy. I like to wear a dressing gown over my night clothes in the winter time and I’m sure many other women out there will be just the same. I really don’t think you could go wrong giving a gift like this for Valentines Day. How about you?

Heart Collage Photo Frame – £4.00

If the love of your life is the sort of person who has photographs all over her room or house, then how about this gorgeous white heart shaped collage photo frame from The Works?

The frame holds four 6×4″ photographs – two landscapes and two portraits. And these are surrounded by swirling branches, birds and butterflies. I’ve bought a couple of these for my own home recently and they look absolutely stunning. A practically perfect Valentines gift.

Hyper Pearl Compact Mirror & USB Battery Pack

Hyper Pearl Compact Mirror & USB Battery Pack – £29.95

And last but certainly not least I’ve picked out a gift that I’m sure the majority of women out there would get a lot of use out of!

It’s my mums birthday this coming Saturday, and she happened to mention that she’d like a portable battery pack that she could pop in her handbag to use if her phone ran out of charge while she was out and about. So when I was shopping at the weekend I decided to shop around and see if I could get her one that was a little more sophisticated than the ones Stacey and I use. And I found just what I was looking for in John Lewis – a battery pack that doubled up as a compact with a light up mirror. How awesome is that?!

The compact itself is sleek and stylish, and it comes in two colours – gold and rose gold. It has two mirrors inside, a regular one and one with a 3 x magnifying feature and the assistant in John Lewis assured me that if you charge this up and then don’t use it when you’re out and about it will hold for quite a long time until you finally need to use it.

The battery pack can be used to charge phones, tablets or e-readers that have run out of battery, and it’s the perfect size for her to pop into even the smallest of handbags. It really is fantastic.

And there you have it – 20 Valentines Gift Ideas for Her. Did you see anything you think she’d like?
