It’s time for another Christmas Gift Guide guys, and this week I’m talking about 10 things I think would be perfect to gift the makeup lover in your life. From lipstick and eyeshadow to nail polish and beauty stylers, there’s something on my list for everyone to enjoy! As always, I hope you’ll find it helpful …
This year YouTube sensation Fleur de Force has released two beauty crackers filled with some gorgeous products from her makeup line. The top picture shows the ‘Cosmic’ version of the cracker, which contains two of Fleur’s beautiful lip glosses – in the shades Starlight and Lucky Star – and her stunning Cosmic Bronze Eyeshadow Quad which is perfect for everyday use.
And the bottom picture shows the ‘Star’ version of the cracker, which contains a lip gloss in the shade Starry Starry Night, Fleur’s Lunar Rose Eyeshadow Quad – which I personally love to use on special occasions – and a super cute compact mirror.
All of the products inside these crackers are full sized, which I think makes them fantastic value for money. And having already tried both the lip glosses and eyeshadow quads before, I can promise you that they’re fantastic quality, have great longevity and basically just look stunning. I can’t imagine anyone who is in to their makeup being disappointed to find one of these underneath their tree this Christmas!
Next up we have the gorgeous Naked Smoky Palette from Urban Decay. I’m not usually a fan of smoky palettes, but this one really appeals to me because it not only has your regular grey’s and blacks, but it has quite a few neutral shades too. And these are right up my street!
The palette itself is absolutely beautiful – it looks like there’s a cloud of smoke just floating across the lid, and when you open it up you’ll find 12 highly pigmented, totally wearable shades inside. What’s great about this palette is that 9 of the shades inside have never been released before, and the other 3 are exclusives from past palettes. So if you bought this for an Urban Decay fanatic you wouldn’t be giving them a palette full of shadows that they already have!
The palette also comes with an exclusive double-ended eyeshadow brush, with a tapered crease brush on one side, and a smoky smudger brush on the other. I have loads of Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes and I can honestly say that I find them second to none. The product blends really well, stays put all day and just looks beautiful. What more could a girl ask for?!
Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without the release of some amazing Benefit gift sets. And this year one of my favourites is their Blushin’ Babe Palette. Featuring 5 of Benefit’s most iconic face powders (Sugarbomb, Rockateur, Coralista, Dandelion and Hoola), a mini Watts Up Highlighter and They’re Real Push-Up Eyeliner and Mascara, this palette is a must for any Benefit fan this Christmas!
The packaging of this is lovely, bright and colourful, and I think that suits the Benefit brand down to a T. I actually picked this one up for my niece for Christmas as I know she loves Benefit as much as I do, and I think she’ll really appreciate a gift like this as you actually get a fair bit of product for your money. I treated myself to last years cheek palette and I’ve only hit pan on a couple of the face powders, even though I feel I use it all the time. I just love them and know I wouldn’t be disappointed to find one of these in my stocking on Christmas morning.
Nails Inc have been my favourite nail polish brand for a long time now, so I just had to add this super cute Candy Cane shaped gift set to my Makeup Christmas Gift Guide this year! The set contains 4 full sized Nails Inc polishes in the following shades:
- St James – a pillar box red
- Royal Avenue – a red and gold glitter
- Belsize Road – a gold and pale pink glitter
- Grosvenor Crescent – a deep aubergine in a gel effect
I always find that Nails Inc polishes glide on beautifully, dry to a nice finish and last a lot longer than many other brands I’ve tried do. What I also like about this particular set is that it offers great value for money because the bottles are full sized, which usually cost £15.00 each!
I think this set is absolutely beautiful, and if you’d like to see what the shades look like on the nails then make sure you keep an eye on my Instagram feed this week as I’ll be uploading pics of each of them. They’re gorgeous, I promise!
If you’re wanting to buy some makeup products for the more mature lady in your life this Christmas then I highly recommend Joan Collin’s Timeless Beauty Lipstick and Powder Compact Duo. This stunning art deco inspired compact contains Joan’s Meticulous Pressed Powder and a Divine Lips Lipstick that’s the perfect size for her to stick in her handbag when she’s on the go.
There is a choice of 16 different shades of lipstick to choose from when purchasing this product. And I love that it slots neatly into a little slot on the compact itself so you don’t have two different products floating around your handbag at once.
The products themselves are really high quality and long lasting. Although I guess you wouldn’t expect anything else from something with Joan’s name on! I’m so impressed with these, an even though I was originally sent one for the purpose of this review, I have since bought a few for my friends for Christmas!
OK, so I know I’ve already included an eyeshadow palette in this gift guide, but I’ve been using the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette for the best part of a year now, and I love it so much that I just had to recommend it! The palette is a beautiful pale pink colour, and it has lots of raised heart shapes on that makes it look like a chocolate bar.
Inside there is a mixture of 16 matte and shimmer shades which are absolutely perfect for this time of year. There are a couple of pink shades that I don’t personally use : Totally Fetch, which is a little too bright for me, and Cotton Candy, which is the opposite and I find too pale. But all of the other shades – which have delicious sounding names such as Almond Truffle and Cafe Au Lait – are right up my street. And as I mentioned before, I’ve used this palette loads this last year.
This palette also smells a-mazing! Apparently the scent of cocoa is a natural mood-booster so if you gift this to a loved one it’s sure to make them happy. Just like the other palette I mentioned before, these shadows are easy to blend, long-lasting and have great colour payoff. It’s a gift she’s sure to heart.
Up next I’ve chosen a limited edition multi tasking brush set from one of my favourite makeup brush brands – Real Techniques. The set contains 3 fantastic new brushes, which are exclusive to the set, as well as a panoramic case with a gorgeous, brightly coloured print.
I don’t think you can beat getting nice new brushes, and I love that this particular set covers all bases. First up there’s a multi task face brush, which has an angled cut and is ideal for setting powder, applying bronzer and contouring the face. Next there’s the multi task cheek brush, which reminds me a lot of the contour brush from the Real Techniques Core Collection. Thanks to its tapered cut this brush is ideal for applying colour to the apples of the cheeks, highlighting the cheekbones and of course, contouring! And last but not least there’s the multi task eye brush, which can be used to apply colour to the crease, highlighting the brow bone and softly smudging colour along the lash line.
One of the reasons I love Real Techniques brushes is the fact that they’re 100% cruelty free. I have a lot of vegan friends and I’m not going to lie, it can be tricky to find beauty products to gift them on special occasions. But I know I can’t go far wrong if I treat them to one of these brush sets. And they are always gratefully received. High 5, Real Techniques!!
I was recently talking to my friends about our favourite makeup products to wear around the festive season, and I have to say that highlighter was a very popular choice! I recently discovered Sleek MakeUP’s Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting Palette and it’s so beautiful I think it would make a gorgeous gift to give this Christmas.
The palette contains 4 highly pigmented and long lasting highlighting shades in baked and cream finishes. They work wonderfully to enhance the complexion with a radiant glow. They blend absolutely beautifully and I think they look and feel a lot more expensive than they actually are. I’ve actually picked a few of these up to give to my loved ones this year as I genuinely think they’ll love them.
This next gift isn’t strictly makeup related – but as it comes with a high definition eyebrow pencil I thought it would just about fit in OK … it’s the Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler Gift Set. This particular styler is a fantastic multi tasking device that gently shaves and precisely shapes your delicate body parts. It’s ideal for shaping eyebrows, trimming bikini lines and shaving underarms!
The styler comes with 7 accessories, including a comb attachment, cleaning brush and beauty pouch so you can take it on your travels. I’ve been using this for the past couple of months now and I actually can’t believe how confident I’m getting at using it to do things like shaping my eyebrows. I’m actually quite proud of how good they look! And it’s all thanks to the handy guide on the back of the box that explains how to get the perfect look.
The brow pencil is one of my faves too! It’s double ended and has a brown pencil on one side and a spoolie on the other side for tidying the brows up when you’ve finished. I think this is the sort of present that a real beauty addict would appreciate, and having this in my life has already saved me a lot of money as I haven’t visited a salon to get my brows done in ages! Well done Veet, this is one fab product. I highly recommend it!
This year I’ve been really impressed with MAC’s Christmas Collection, which is called ‘Nutcracker Sweet’. My favourite product from the collection just has to be the Nude Lipstick Kit, which contains 4 mini lippies in shades I would wear every day.
The kit contains the shades Kinda Sexy, Nouvelle Vogue, Creme Cup and Whirl. All housed in the most gorgeous fuchsia and burgundy presentation box with gold accents. I love that you have to open a little drawer at the front of the box to get the lipsticks out, and find something magical about opening it to see what’s inside! It’s a really stunning little gift set that I’m sure anyone would feel lucky to receive.
And there you have it – my Makeup Christmas Gift Guide! I hope it’s given you some ideas of what you could gift the makeup addict in your life this year. I also have loads of other gift guides going live soon, with ideas for teen girls, people who love home fragrance and much, much more. Make sure you keep an eye out for them!
