I know it seems like Christmas was only yesterday, but we’re into the month of March already, and Mothers Day is fast approaching! So today I thought I’d put together a little compilation of gorgeous gift ideas incase you need a little inspiration for what to get your own mum this year. I hope you enjoy it …
Prosecco & Strawberry Scented Candle – £24.50
First up, I’ve picked out this Prosecco & Strawberry Scented Candle from a brand called Hearth & Heritage. It smells absolutely gorgeous – just like a freshly poured glass of prosecco cocktail. Yum! It comes in a matt white glass candle holder with a gold painted glass interior, and is packed in a sturdy white box with a foil printed design on the front.
Hearth & Heritage candles are known for giving off a lot of scent, making them a fantastic gift for the candle-loving mum. And they burn really evenly too. I think my own mum would love to receive something like this on Mothers Day, as the scent is very different to many of the other candles you get in the shops these days. It’s just lovely!
Framed Family Tree – £28.00
I’m a big fan of buying personalised gifts for special occasions, and this Mothers Day I’m thinking of picking up this cute, contemporary ‘Family Tree’ print for Nathan’s mum. Available to purchase in 4 different colours, the print features space for the names of up to 14 family members, and you can play around with different fonts and text colours to make it totally unique for the recipient as well.
At the bottom of the print there is room to add the family name, and a tagline of your choice. I think that a gift like this would make a fantastic talking point in any home, and I’m sure that mums up and down the country would love to receive something like this for Mothers Day as it’s just gorgeous!
Personalised Initial Bangle – £49.00
I love giving jewellery as a gift, and one of my favourite pieces at the moment just has to be these elegant personalised initial bangles from Merci Maman. You can choose from two different metals – sterling silver or 18k gold plated – and then have the initial of your choice hand-engraved on to one of their super cute mini heart or star charms as a finishing touch.
My daughter Stacey bought one of her friends a Merci Maman bracelet for her birthday earlier this year and I was really impressed by everything about the brand – from how quickly the gift arrived to how high in quality the finished item was. I highly recommend them. You can also opt to receive a free gift box with every purchase, which I think is great as it makes wrapping up so much easier!
Personalised Dips Platter – £34.99
Next up I’m loving this personalised dips platter that I found over on Toxicfox. The platter comes complete with 3 deep white ceramic dishes in a beautiful heart shape, which sit neatly on a luxurious bamboo base that can be engraved with a name or personal message of your choice. I think this set would make a lovely gift for a loved one this Mothers Day.
Pair of Bunny Ring Holders – £12.00
My mum has recently picked up some lovely new bedroom furniture from OAK Furniture UK, so I thought it might be nice to treat her to something she can display on her dressing table this Mothers Day. I came across this pair of adorable ceramic bunny ring holders on the Not on the High Street website last week and just couldn’t resist picking them up for her!
Each of the ring holders is 10cm high, and they are designed so that you can stack rings on their ears. I think these little bunnies are super cute, and would make a lovely little gift for mums everywhere this year. And at just £12 for the pair they’re really affordable too. I love them!
Cocktails of the Movies Book – £14.99
If you’re after something a little different to give to your mum this Mothers Day, then how about this awesome ‘Cocktails of the Movies’ book from Firebox?! The fully illustrated guide provides step by step instructions on how to create 64 of the most iconic cocktails from Hollywood history, including Carrie Bradshaw’s ‘Cosmopolitan’, Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Manhattan’, and Ryan Gosling’s ‘Crazy Stupid Love’.
‘Cocktails of the Movies’ would be perfect for the movie loving mum, and even if she’s never made a cocktail before she’d soon become a pro, as the book explains everything in simple terms from start to finish. It’s safe to say that with this book, she’ll never be stuck for something to drink ever again!
Red Wine Gift Set – £35.00
If you like to stick to the more traditional gifts of flowers and chocolates for Mothers Day gifts then I think you’ll love this lovely Red Wine Gift Set from Next. The set includes everything you could possibly wish for to spoil your mum this year – including a lovely little bunch of red roses, gift wrapped with a bottle of red wine along with a stylish wine cooler and a box of delicious luxury chocolates. What more could she ask for?!
British Rose Deluxe Gift Collection – £40.00
I’m a big fan of The Body Shop, and absolutely love their new ‘British Rose’ collection. So much so, that I just couldn’t resist adding their Deluxe Gift Collection to my gift guide! This particular set includes 5 of the products from the British Rose collection, all wrapped up in an adorable little hatbox. The British Rose Collection is created using organically grown roses from Hertfordshire too, which I think makes it even more special!
The Deluxe Gift Collection Includes …
- Shower Gel – 60ml
- Vitamin E Moisture Cream – 50ml
- Body Butter – 200ml
- Body Essence – 200ml
- Eau De Toilette – 100ml
Butter London High Tea Nail Lacquer Collection –
If your mum is into her beauty products then I highly recommend treating her to Butter London’s ‘High Tea Nail Lacquer Collection’, which is a set of 4 beautiful and super-wearable nail shades. I won’t go into too much detail today as I reviewed the full collection here, but I can guarantee that all 4 shades in the set are just stunning and perfect for Spring. And a big bonus is that the collection has recently been reduced from £25 to just £15 … bargain!
Shades Include …

Mum’s Sofa Socks – £15.00
And last but certainly not least, I love this groovy pair of sofa socks from Not on the High Street! Each of the socks can be personalised with the lucky recipients name, along with a message of your choice, and are available to buy in 4 different colours. I think they’d make a truly unique and affordable Mothers Day gift, and they come beautifully presented in a bespoke gift box too. What’s not to love?!
And there you have it – 10 great gift ideas for Mothers Day 2016.
I’d love to hear what you thought of them!
